State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the report of the committee appointed to re-authorize the import of vehicles is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet by the second week of August.

He stated this in Parliament today (July 10).

?We have also spoken to the International Monetary Fund and informed them that after August, we will develop a program for public transport services, transportation services, alternatives to other transport services, then general vehicles, and then luxury vehicles. Accordingly, this committee met on July 4th. The committee is expected to submit their report to the Cabinet within a month, by the second week of August. Accordingly, we expect to restart this process with a specific sequence.?
